    3. I have several men in my family lineage with this name, however have not been able to connect to this one yet. Can anyone tell me where this young man fits into the Vaughn family there in Telfair County? Any help appreciated. Emma July 15, 1891, The Weekly Telegraph A young farmer killed by a kicking horse. Americus. July 10, Yesterday afternoon a young farmer named Jesse Vaughn, who lives at Milan, was returning from a blind tiger four miles in the country. The horse hitched to the buggy ran away. 3. Emma, The 1880 census for Telfair County (which you can view for free online) shows that Jesse was the apparent son of James and Mary Vaughn. He married Tempe AS Spiers in Telfair County on September 18, 1887. Jesse, his parents, and siblings were shown on the 1870 census of Telfair, and the 1860 census of Pulaski. There is more than one James Vaughn of the same approximate age as Jesse's father, but the one I suspect as Jesse's was the apparent son of Coleman or Coalman and Sarah Vaughn, who were in the 1850 census enumeration of Wilkinson County. I hope this helps you decide if you connect to this one who died too young. It's a shame that such a tragedy had to involve the mention of his visit to a blind tiger. 3. Thanks Linda, I had thought that this was the same one that you decided was probably the correct one. Thanks for all of your help.
