W.J. and Mattie Alton were the parents of Walter Alton, Sr. who married Irene Boles. Walter and Irene had the following children during the 1930's: Walter, Jr. Francis Agnes Billy (youngest) Virginia The following information is known about this family: Mattie died in October 1935 and is thought to be buried in the cemetery East of Griffin on Hwy 16. W.J. and Mattie lived at 408 N. 13th Street in Griffin during the 1930's. Francis was married (Husband's name unknown) and lived in Columbus, Georgia during the 1950's.
