Found some new information regarding Reason Howard who was in Richmond County, GA after 1780. I believe he may have been the son of John Greeniff Howard and Elizabeth Bond of Baltimore County, MD and served in the Revolution. 6/5/1783: Rhesa Howard is Testamentary of estate of John Upton in Richmond County, GA (Administrators & Guardians Bonds--Richmond Co., GA 1777-1830). Elizabeth Upton administratix. Other testamentary included: Isaac Parry, John Nelson, and Zacheus Fenn. Appraisers were: Wm. Candler, Henry Candler, Daniel McCarty, Joseph Anthony and Jos. Ray. 10/31/1783: Rhesa Howard is testamentary estate of John West, deceased. John and Elinor Nelso, administrators. Appraisers were Wm. Candler and Isaac Jackson. Other testamentary by Fitzmaurice Hunt. 4/22/1784: Capt. Rhesa Howard is appraiser of estate of Thomas Espey, deceased June 5, 1783. James Espey administrator. Other appraisers were Capt. Thomas Burke, Capt. Ignatius Few, Col G.B. Lee, and B. Few. Abt. 1784: Rhesa Howard is appraiser of estate of John Smith (decd), Jacob Smith administrator. Wm. Foster, Jacob Johnson, Thos. Gardner and W. Gardner Testamentary. Other Appraisers were Benj. Braswell, Thos. Brantley, Joseph Maddox, James McFarland. Notes due estate from Simeon Salter, Edward Hall, Thos. Kemp and Jeremiah Duckworth. 11/1/1784: Rhesa Howard is appraiser of estate of William Candler, Elizabeth and Henry Candler-administrators. Other appraisers were: Joseph Ray, John Appling, Robert Middleton, and Benjamin Few. 1785: Rhesa Howard appointed administrator with Jacob Hutchins of Estate of John Hutchins, decd. Testatamentary were: Eliza Hutchins, Chas. Linn, John Bates and Masanah (?) Howard. 10/23/1787: Rhesa Howard, Esq., is appraiser of estate of Samuel Hart, decd., Esther Hart and Joel Cloud, administrators. Testamentary were: Duncan McCowen, Noble Butler, Lewis & Thos. Gardner. Other appraisers were: John Stubbs, Noble Butler, John Carson Jr., Abraham Johnson, Francis Jones, and John McMunn. 3/20/1790: Rhesa Howard is appraiser of estate of John Carson, Rachel Carson-Administratix. Other appraisers were: Abiathar Davis, Richard Bonner, Abraham Johnston, Noble Butler, Benjamin Boswell, Thomas Smith and Adam Jones. If anyone is researching this Howard line, please contact me.
