Good evening all..... My 2nd great grdfather's Service record "time sheets" show that he enlisted in Etowah, Georgia. I cannot find Etowah on my present day maps. Is it still around? If not, where was it during War Between the States? Since some of these copies I have of his records are very unclear....sent to me in 1984 when perhaps they did not have access to better copiers.....to whom do I go to get new copies????? He was with Co. D, 36th (Broyles) Georgia Infantry. My grt.grt.grandpa was Calvin G. Byers, born ca. 1855-59 in...Georgia.(this according to 1900 census). Parents unknown. He married in 1881, probably in Missouri, to Anna Salmon(s). Look forward to learning how to gather new copies of old records and finding Etowah! In appreciation, I am Doris Kirschke Brown . . . . . a Texan in Florida dkirschke@atlantic.net
