Hi, this is my first posting. I have the following GA names, the first group: DOTY: STRINGER; WARREN Stringer and Warren were in Burke County, beginning in the 1780's. In 1805, Josiah Warren, was in Montgomery County and, later, Laurens County. Some of the members of this Warren family remained in each of these counties. My 3-g-grandfather, Benajah Warren, married Ferriba Stringer and migrated to Mississippi around 1820; my 3-g-grandfather, Noah Stringer, also, moved to MS during this time period. The Dotys and Warrens both came from Onslow County, NC to GA at about the same time. Josiah Warren married Nancy, daughter of Benajah Doty, in NC. I believe some of Benajah Doty's children remained there, as well, as migrating to other GA counties.. Second group: CAIN: GARMON; YANCEY: All three of these families were in Forsyth County, GA in the 1840's (or earlier) and possibly in neighboring Gwinnett County. My g-grandparents, John and Mary Garmon Cain, eventually migrated to Denton County, TX, where at least 2 of John's brothers had already located. The Cain family was Irish and possibly migrated to GA from PA. The Garmons were, also, in Alabama during this time. The Dotys, Stringers, Warrens and Yanceys have been well researched by others and I have added info to these records. However, I'm at a high brick wall on John Cain. But I would love to find fellow descendants of any of these families!
