Thanks Linda, I had Jesse's dd from the cemetery database but I didnt have one for Emma (according to the Gwinnett Co deaths there was no dd on her stone but Im going up to Fairview Presby this weekend to check on some things)...thats an interesting date for her because I was talking to one of her granddaughters last nite and she told me Emma lived for a very long time after Jesse died...so I need to do some more investigating. Where did you find the death cert numbers? (Its been awhile since I did Gwinnett Co research and I wasnt aware there was an index available anywhere) I found John and Sarah Childers after I sent the email out yesterday and have been trying to verfiy these were indeed Emma's parents. Hmmm. . . There are two Emma Parks indexed who died in Gwinnett. The other one has a middle initial "M", which didn't seem to fit, but here's the information on her, in case the first one was not the wife of Jesse: Emma M. Parks - died March 2, 1954 in Gwinnett, at age 80, Certificate #5998. I dismissed her earlier because I knew your Emma's middle name began with an "O", and her maiden name began with a "C". Still - you never know. It's possible that she had another middle name - or that the informant didn't really know. There are many other Emma Park and Parks indexed who resided/died in other counties, but only those two in Gwinnett. As I recall, even though her age was off by a couple of years, the Emma Childers with father John and mother (stepmother?) Sarah was the only one who was enumerated as "Emma O." Portions of the Georgia Death Index are posted on several websites. I personally use the database at Ancestry. Good luck!
