In the 1930s and 40s Batson Cook Construction Company of La Grange GA had a rooming/boarding house for their construction managers when they were between projects. This was located in Opelika. My father lived there periodically during that time frame. To my knowledge, he left no family there. There were several of my suspected ancestors (several generations earlier) who migrated from Carroll Co GA into the Randolph Co AL area. Some of them may have drifted Southward.
