EB Lamar indexed in Bibb in 1850 was female, born ca 1800, as I recall. Still can't find any Lamar indexed in 1850 Georgia who was born as early as 1750, give or take 5 to 10, and still wondering where these folks were living in the1870 census mentioned. There are over 30 exact-spelling Lamar slaveowners indexed in 1850 Georgia and about 50 in 1860. I don't find one whose given name was anything close to Eugene, however, in any of the southern states. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joseph Cercy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, October 22, 2006 2:49 AM Subject: Re: [GEORGIA] Information on Lamar, EUGENE > I found an E B Lamar in Bibb Co., Ga on the 1850 Federal Census Slave > Schedule. This is just a thought-- many times the widow carried her name as Mrs. etc.- never using her given name- for years my mother did that- she was Mrs.(dad's initials)-do not overlook any rock!
