    3. Kay, I found these families in census, enumerated in 1910 Thomas County, Georgia (Atkinson), 1920 Houston County, Georgia(Atkinson), 1920 Desoto County, Florida (Mathison), and in 1930 Charlotte County, Florida (both). Children listed on the census for the family of Agret/Agrat M. and Mary S. Mathison are Virginia L., Myrtle F., and Stella? K. Of course, if Helen was born and died in 1916, she wouldn't be listed, and our death certificate records don't begin until about 1919. Do you know if Helen's grave has a marker, and did they bury her in Mitchell or take her to a cemetery in another county to be buried with other family members? I don't have cemetery listings for Mitchell County, Georgia, but will be happy to send you the census enumerations if you need them and don't already have them. Sorry not to be of more help. 3. Linda, I should have mentioned that Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of the service at the time. I have written to them and they are not under the same ownership, so I'm told, and have no records for me. 3. Kay, I really really don't want to discourage you, but there may not have been anything in the way of (what we think of today as) an obituary in the Pelham newspaper for your baby sister. I have completed three volumes of newspaper "death notices" from my local newspaper, and though a very few of the early death notices concerning infants named more than the parents, most did not. Those few-and-far-between early obituaries were almost always written by a family friend or close relative and usually gave little information of a genealogical nature, but were descriptive of the child, the broken-hearted parents, and (usually) the promise of a reunion in Heaven. Did Braswell's new owner have any idea as to the disposition of Braswell's records? They are probably still with someone in the family if they haven't been destroyed, and the new owners probably know who that would be. Have you checked with the Mitchell County Historical or Genealogical Society to see if they have made any effort to secure them?
