Looking for wife and child of Hezekiah K. Dowdy. Hezekiah was single when he registered for the WWI draft in Dodge County in 1918 and stated that he had a dependant mother as a reason for exemption. Did he marry immediately after he registered for the draft? If so who and when did he marry? He was listed as widowed in the 1920 census and he had 18 month old Myrtice Dowdy and his widowed mother in the home. Looking for information on this family. Any help appreciated. Emma

If you have not already, you might want to contact this person to see if he/she knows who your Hezekiah married. [email protected] I wasn't able to find a marriage record for him, and the only Dowdy death in Dodge County recorded in 1919 (the first year deaths were recorded) or 1920 was a Bessie M. Dowdy, who died on June 27, 1919 in Dodge County - Certificate #7541-A. Sorry to be of so little help. Hopefully someone else on the list can offer more.
