Hi... I wanted to email and try to put the following straight in my mind..... The following is how I am related to the Hersey family of Coffee and Ware Co, GA.... Ok here goes: 1. Jacob Elkanah Hersey (my great grandfather), the son of Elakanah George Washington Hersey (great great grandfather), the grandson of Thomas Hersey. Jacob married Margaret Hersey, the daughter of Enoch and Mary Bagley Hersey. Stephanie Grohol (maiden name McPherson) married Joseph Grohol jr Donnie Hodges (McPherson) married Carroll McPherson Jr Allie Hersey m. Clifford Hodges Jacob Hersey m. Margaret Hersey Elkanah Hersey m. Charlotte Surrency Thomas Hersey m. Rebecca..... Here where it gets a bit confusing...I think... 2. Margaret Hersey, the daughter of Enoch and Mary Bagley Hersey, the granddaughter of Thomas Hersey....it turns out that Enoch and Mary are also my great grandparents..... And then here it gets more weird and confusing.....Enoch and Mary are also my 2nd great grand uncle and aunt.....this way... Thomas Hersey Enoch (brother to Elkanah Hersey) Margaret (she is also my 1st cousin three times removed).....married Jacob Hersey...who being my great grandfather on one side is just a husband to her on the other side.....
