    1. [GEORGIA] travel
    2. I can remember my father relating how he and Mother traveled from Jacksonville Florida to Nashville, Tennessee in 1925. He had gotten and scholarship to college. They traveled by car and the most important thing they had with them was the kit to patch the tires when they blew out or got punctured. We have no idea what a hardshop travel it was even in the early years of the 1900's. There were few paved roads and few gas stations. Their were no comforts by the side of the road every ten miles. I wonder what we would have done back then. It took many hours to travel short distances. My mother related going to the "lake" out from Jacksonville at Green Cove Springs and it took all day. They piled into a wagon in the summer and went and stayed with cousins and you didn't go for a short time. That wasn't far at all but it took them all day Barbara Macon, Georgia ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
