Also, this area was a part of the 1827 Georgia Land lottery and the Native Americans were not all removed until 1832-1838. I doubt that there would have been a published notice of adoption this early in the area's history. However, there you may find a record in the Ordinary's (now Probate)Court. And there may never have been a "formal" adoption at all. God luck, Jimmy
