Stephens, Alice* Family-Placed Death Notice Alice Izora Burmaster Stephens died March 20, 2004. She was born May 24, 1918 in Irving, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Stephens. Alice graduated from Teachers College in Potsdam, New York in 1940. She taught school for over 30 years, in Alplaus, N.Y., Browne Academy in Alexandria, VA and DeKalb County, GA. Alice was a member of Tucker First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was in the bell choir. For many years Alice was a member and past president of the Song of Atlanta Chapter of Sweet Adelines. Alice moved to Loganville in 2000 where she attended Corinth Christian Church and was a member of the choir. Alice is survived by Judson and Lynne Stephens of Norcross; Gordon and Kathy Stephens, Lauren and Alyson of Loganville; Todd Stephens of Sacramento, California; Ann Colonomos of NYC. Services will be held March 28, 2 PM at Corinth Christian Church with Rev. Don Hardison and Rev. Lester Waters officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta.
