A few days ago, the Georgia Archive posted an online index to their General Name File. http://content.sos.state.ga.us/cdm4/gnf.php You can search by first initial of the last name, and then select from a group of names that would include what you're looking for (ex. Aaron, Betty to Abbott, William Wright). Then you will see scans from the name file. For example, I found a many-times great uncle, John F. Craft, who I knew to be a state senator. In addition to details regarding that, it also listed his Confederate regiment, vital dates and his father's information. -Valerie Begin with 'Caft' = http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~beginwithcraft/
Where can I locate obits from the AJC? Some are really old, but some are 2001 and later. Thanks, Diane
Link to AJC's Stacks historic archives search page. It's a pay site, but comes in handy if you know the obit was published there. There's also a link on that page to more current archives (2001 to present). http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/ajc_historic/search.html ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Brown" <dianebrown3@charter.net> To: <georgia@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 31, 2008 6:45 PM Subject: [GEORGIA] Atlanta Journal Constitution obits > Where can I locate obits from the AJC?
