I am just providing the transcription - I am not yet at the point of digesting it or analyzing it. Hopefully there are others who have gone way beyond my abilities on that part. I look forward to seeing what others have learned. I also don't know what some of these sources are either so if anyone knows, I hope you will jump right in and fill in the blanks for the rest of us. AGAIN THANKS From: Geniesleuth@aol.com [mailto:Geniesleuth@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2008 11:38 AM To: Ayers, B. J. Subject: AL Wills lookup? Hi, Got some kind of spliced up message about AL wills lookup on the names, Hinton, Montgomery. There was only one Hinton in this book (is only on the years of the 1800s and has all counties listed). It is some sort of index but by no means is complete, so records may still exist. William Hinton Greene County, AL Wills Book C 1840-1864 Page 150 "Montgomery": James - Limestone County, AL Wills Book 1841-1846 Page 252 James - Talladega Co, Wills& T Book D 1867-1880 Page 630 John P - Calhoun Co, Loose Records Probated 1864 Joseph - Wilcox Co, Wills Book 4 1847-1862 Page 207 Robert - Dallas Co Wills Book B 1850-1871 Page 234 Susan J - Wilcox Co Wills Book 5 1855-1870 Page 297 William - Autauga Reports K (often final reports by Adm) 1859-1860 Page 7 (NOTE: The page number is often only the first page of what is listed, there are often more pages, so ask for the entire thing if you write or call to get the records). Do not know if that helped you any or not. You are lucky I had a bit of spare time, seldom have that much any more to do searching. I have been working on my family history for over 40 years, and do try to help others when I can.
