    1. [GEORGIA] Ft. Stewart Cemetery visitation opportunity
    2. Crilley
    3. Jennifer asked me to post this information: This sounds like such a wonderful opportunity! I do hope some of you are able to attend this, and bring back information to share! Some of these cemeteries are on-line, and we're always anxious to learn more about the families buried there. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/liberty.htm ================================================================ The Fort Stewart Fall Cemetery Council Meeting will be Oct 23rd, 2003. A bus tour is planned to the Taylors Creek Campground, Haygrove, Todd-Ray (Bethany), Deloach, and Goulden Cemeteries. Lunch will be provided at a cost of $4.50 per person, payable at registration the day of the event. The Fort Stewart Cemetery Council is a cooperative effort between Fort Stewart officials and community members who have ties to the cemeteries located on the installation. It provides an interchange on issues relating to the cemeteries and allows former residents (and other interested parties) of the area to gather and visit with one another and recall the history of the area. For additional information please contact either myself or Ms. Gail Aldridge at 767-5687. Thanks Jennifer Grover Jennifer.Grover@stewart.army.mil Virginia Crilley

    1. [GEORGIA] ETOWAH
    2. Doris Brown
    3. Good evening all..... My 2nd great grdfather's Service record "time sheets" show that he enlisted in Etowah, Georgia. I cannot find Etowah on my present day maps. Is it still around? If not, where was it during War Between the States? Since some of these copies I have of his records are very unclear....sent to me in 1984 when perhaps they did not have access to better copiers.....to whom do I go to get new copies????? He was with Co. D, 36th (Broyles) Georgia Infantry. My grt.grt.grandpa was Calvin G. Byers, born ca. 1855-59 in...Georgia.(this according to 1900 census). Parents unknown. He married in 1881, probably in Missouri, to Anna Salmon(s). Look forward to learning how to gather new copies of old records and finding Etowah! In appreciation, I am Doris Kirschke Brown . . . . . a Texan in Florida dkirschke@atlantic.net

    2. Baker and Mitchell counties in Georgia are adjacent to one another. They are in the Southwest corner of Georgia just below Albany, Georgia, which is Dougherty County. There is only one county between Mitchell County and the Florida line.

    1. [GEORGIA] Henry Thomas CERSEY
    2. Joseph Cercy
    3. I am hoping someone who has access to old newspaper archives can help me. Henry Thomas CERSEY died in Baldwin Co., Ga on 11 July 1928. Could someone see if there is an obituary for him? He lived many years in Berrien Co, perhaps there might be an obit there for him. I have his death certificate and there is very little information on it as the informant was his doctor in Baldwin Co. He was divorced and according to the certificate born in Alabama. I believe this is a mistake as on the censuses he was born in Georgia. Thanks for your help.
