    1. Re: [GEORGIA] L D S Information
    2. The Georgia death index is available on microfiche but not on microfilm as far as I know. Since the fiche were done by Vital Records and not the LDS I don't think the LDS libraries will have it. It is available on microfiche at all major genealogical libraries in GA and at the GA State Archives. I have the set at home and will do one or two lookups so long as I don't get flooded with requests. BTW, it is also available online through ancestry.com, but you have to be a subscriber to access it. 2. On the death index, I think the only one online was for 1870 or 1880. How many years does it over. No need for anyone to ask for lookups until you let us know the boundaries. Thanks very much for the offer. C.

    1. [GEORGIA] Pike Co History Book
    2. Due to all the chaos of the holiday season, the committee was not able to devote any attention to our pictorial history book. That being said we talked the publisher into one more extension on the deadline. We are FAR short of the number of books we must sell to publish. We must have 350 copies sold. Thus far we have 156. It appears we will have to sell ads in the book. Anyone who has an interest in buying either a book or an ad or submitting a picture. Please contact me for info on how to do this. One idea I saw in a similar book--someone had bought a memorial page for their grandmother and included the family story on that page along with pictures of the lady being honored. We hope to have the ads blend with the book. Like a business will send us a picture of the way it looked when it started along with information on its beginning. Again if anyone has any interest please contact me ASAP . This will be the last extension we can get.

    3. the catolog for the Family Hisotry Library is online at http://www.familysearch.org. Follow the pointers to the library catolog search. Do the search based on Georgia, USA. the screen will show all of the library's holdings for the state level. If you wish for information under a specific county, such as deeds or probate, in the search criteria place the county name and Georgia. 3. Someone gave me old copies of some pages from a book that is not identified, but the subject of Page 281(? or 381?) is "Martin" and it gives the family of Martin Martin of GA...It addresses 'Taylor's Creek' which I believe is one of those on Ft. Stewart Reservation, formerly in Liberty County. To the left(opposite) of this page is a group Photo...cannot read the caption. What appears to be Page 30 of this same book gives a one paragraph biography of Martin Martin... To the right(Opposite) of this page, beginning of article 'Heyday 1820-1920' The final one is page 18(?? also blurred). To the right (Opposite is a map of GA with hand-drawn divisions of the various lands... I think this might be from a book on Taylor's Creek, but would like someone who has access to validate my suppositions...and also tell me where I can get 'good' copies... _________________________________________________________________ High-speed users—be more efficient online with the new MSN Premium Internet Software. http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-us&page=byoa/prem&ST=1

Augusta Evans and her family lived over in Willdwood near St Paut Methodist's Church, not far from Eldorado Everytime I see the name Seaborn Jones, the first thing that comes to mind is this story.
