Not all are online here, but it sure has helped me a lot. http://www.heritagequestonline.com/prod/genealogy/index choose census records Use my login info: rootcellar, then welcome in the next box. Just put in the surname and choose the year and the state, it will give you selections available. As you work with this you will find other ways to search with this site. I have been chasing a JOHN STAKEM/STACOM all day long through the above counties in Georgia....which brought me to this main Georgia list..... 1st found John Stacom in Ancestry's American Civil War Soldiers Name:John Stacom Company: I Unit:69 N. Y. State Militia. Rank - Induction: Private Rank - Discharge: Private Allegiance: Union Then it looks like he might have gone back in Name: John Stacom Company: I Unit: 69 N. Y. State Militia. Rank - Induction: Sergeant Rank - Discharge: Sergeant Allegiance: Union Under his name was the name MARY E STACOM who applied for widows pension June 9 1913 from Georgia.... Found Mary E Stacom's death in Fulton Co Georgia 13 Jan 1927 Doing the census backwards 1920 I found Mary E Stacom age 77 in Atlanta City census living on Wordward Avenue with her daughter Mary F SHIELDS and husband Elisha A SHIELDS...everyone born in Georgia..... 1910 Census found John Stacom age 78 br Ireland came to US 1855 and living in McDuffie Co Ga. Thos?????? Town [cannot tell what town it is ] with wife Mary E age 68 br Georgia mother of 7 - 3 living.... no children living with them.... 1900 census found John and Mary living in Summerville Ga. Richmond Co. 1890 census not available 1880 census I can't find them.... According to daughter 1910 census for Mary F Shields info she was br in 1873 Georgia....I found through that census info Mary F and her husband Elisha had 3 children 2 living.....one was daughter Julia age 12 making her br abt 1887-88 ...Elisha was a Minister in the M.E.Church in Little River Cherokee Co George...1900 census for the family found them living in Augusta Ga Richmond Co. gave me another daughter named of Esther br 1881? hard to read.... What I cannot find is the James Stacom Family in 1880 census....wife Mary E ... daughter Mary F and 2 other children unknown. . Ancestry and the LDS site has not turned them up for me so far .... Heritage Quest does not have the 1880 US census... There are over 40 ways to spell Stacom and I know they are there its just what spelling they might be under... Anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions that might help me in finding more out about this family...especially John Stacom..... there is a good chanch he belongs to my family line but until I find his parents names I can't tell....I realize that would mean his death certificate if they are on there....but have no idea where he might have died at due to the moving around they did in the census findings... Are there any sites on line that might help find his death?     3. It depends, the mailing cost is usually paid upfront with a check or cash. The centers don't take credit cards. You'll have to call the one closest to you. I know that ours on occasion takes a phone order, then the patron sends a check, but the patron is well known and we know that she'll show up to cover the cost and use the film. If someone out of the blue, unknow to us requested it, I don't think that our director would risk having to cover the cost of mailing out of our very limited budget. Samuel Pate (abt 1790/1800-bef 25 July 1848 Twiggs Co Ga) is my ancestor, but I am interested in the relationship if any to Holliday H Harrell.
