    3. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/history/1920leg.jpg Dave Styles has provided this photo of the 1920-1921 legislators - Atlanta. That is all that is on the photo. Can anyone help us get a listing of those who might be in the photo --- or better yet get an identification list to go with this photo?? Aren't those hats great? And the one woman ?? was she a wife of someone --- or did they have a woman at that time? Thanks....

    1. [GEORGIA] GA State Web Site For AHGP Updated
    2. Doris Robbins
    3. The Georgia State Web Site for American History and Genealogy Project (AHGP) has been updated. Several counties have been adopted recently and two counties have new URLs. The web site is at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state/ This is a FREE Genealogy & History site. Some of the "pages" at the web site is the Volunteer Pages. Many people have said they would do look-ups for people in Georgia. They have books, personal records or will go to the library, courthouse or cemetery to do the look-ups. The volunteers are listed by counties. If you have a Genealogy Event or Workshop planned, you can post the information on the site. How about a Mystery Photo? We have several that people need help with. How about those old photos that you are not sure about when they were made. There is a "Page" with information about "Dating Clothes". There is also a Brick Wall page where you can list your "brickwall relative". Also a place to list your Family Reunion. Stop by soon and see what all has been added since your last visit. 2. Kay"s Email
    3. Checking to see if anyone, or their families having mentioned the Atkinsons and Mathisons that lived in Pelham, Mitchell, Georgia. I'm sure that they lived there in 1916, as a sister of mine was born there and died there within a few weeks. I purchased a Pelham Journal Reel, showing some things on the Atkinsons, and Mathisons but nothing that I've been able to find on Helen Holmes Mathison. Her father was A.M. Mathison, her mother was Mary Susan Atkinson Mathison. G.T. Atkinson, mother's father, and A.M. Mathison, her husband, owned a small eating place there. They also had a daughter, named Virginia Lou, that was born in Alabama, before Helen was born. Understand the Funeral Dirrector and owner, didn't keep records back at that time. There are records someplace but I have failed to find any. Appreciate anything, and I do mean anything, that you might add to my problem. Thanks, Kay (Fiveash)

Thelma is the daughter of Cora Belle Crews Taylor, daughter of Hardy. Thelma's sister, Geraldine, has much info on the Crews. I may go visit with Thelma tomorrow and will check for information. 2. Joe & Steph
    3. Hi.... I am also researching George Crawford..no info on him..just that he married Villa (LaVilla) Crews on Apr 24, 1918 in Charlton Co, GA. Villa was born Jul 11, 1902 in Charlton Co, GA to Henry Lawton and Dorothy Corneal Crews. I am trying to find anything on this family....I am not sure when and if she has died....she maybe still alive....I am also trying to locate them in the census...but the George Crawford I keep finding in married to a Missouri....I found a George Crawford in 1920, but I do not think it is him....so I am still trying to locate them in the 1920 and 1930 census....I am assuming they are in Charlton Co, GA still. So if someone can help me, appreciate any help anyone can give....and thank you.... Stephanie Grohol

GA 1910 Charlton Co., GA - Trader's Hill Dist. 1142 Hardy Crews, 31 b. GA. Mattied 12 years Martha M. 27, b. GA. Mother of 8 children, 7 living Nora A., 11 GA George D. 10 GA Elbert J. 18 GA Cora B. 6 GA Goldie M. 4 GA Marshall J. 2 GA Maud M. 8 mos. GA 1920 Charlton Co., GA - Trader's Hill Dist. 1142 Hardy H. Crews, 41 GA Martha 37 GA Nora 20 GA Elbert 18 GA Cora Belle 16 GA Golda Mae 14 GA Marshall 12 GA Maud 10 GA Raleigh 6 GA Celia 5 GA Jeff 3 GA Susan Lou 1 GA (Not positive about Susan, but the Lou was very clear) There were three Hardy Crews listed on this 1920 census. Here is the other information: 1220 Militia Dist. Willisville of Charlton Co., GA Hardy C. Crews, age not clear, b. GA Kizzie, 29 b. GA 2 boarders in household. no children listed. Hardy Crews 23, GA shows living alone, but married status noted. Parents shown: Father b. Florida, mother b. England My note: Since I don't have father's name of the Hardy Crews this could be a list of cousins in the 1920 census. ie: Father had brothers that named their sons the same. I hate it when this happens, it's a royal pain to get it all figured out. There is no listing for 1880 on this search site. Hope this helps some. 2. Jones Family
    3. I've recently learned that my ancestor Joseph Jones who migrated to Wilkinson County, Georgia about the time of the Georgia 1805 Land Lottery had a Maryland connection. In fact, it appears that several of the early families who were in Wilkinson County by the 1820 first census may have had roots back to Maryland as well. Does anyone know of any particular reason for this migration or was it just the lure of the new land? Thanks. W. Chris Jones
