    3. Ralph, I may be wrong (it's happened before), but I believe passports were issued by the Governors of Georgia (and perhaps others?) for travel through Cherokee and/or Creek territory. There have been at least a couple of books published which are a compilation of copies of these passports. You should be able to locate the books through your local library or at Amazon.com by searching for "Passports Issued by Georgia Governors". A search without the years added should bring up both - and others, if there are more I don't know about. Good luck! 3. This the first time I have heard about states issuing passports for visits to the frontier. I presume this was done because these areas were not considered part of the U. S. Can you give us more information about this? 3. The 1910 Charlton County census shows only one Pringle family. James Pringle, 22, with wife of one year named Della or Dilla, and a son, not yet named. Where are the Pringle children's parents shown to have been born? You might want to check Charlton County marriages to see if Della's maiden name was Crawford. There will be a lot of sharing memories as you go along. Don't think I was any help to your Mother, but I'm sure that there were many that were. Thanks for letting us know about your Mother. 2. I apologize if this is against list policy, but my mother, Loda Gail CHAMPION Potts, passed away last month (on March 29, 2004). I'm her youngest son, Danny, and while I doubt many of you knew her, I wanted to take a moment and tell you that receiving e-mails from these genealogy lists brought her a great deal of happiness. It's taken me about a month to get around to clearing out her e-mail inbox, which is why news didn't come sooner. I'll be de-subbing this e-mail address (her's) from the list. I will be taking over her family research work, and try to do at least *half* the job she did. This e-mail address should still remain active for some time, and my sister and I will be periodically checking it. Again, I'm sorry for the intrusion... I just wanted to be certain that the word was out, just in case she's ever posted here. Thanks, Danny Potts
