    2. In a message dated 10/2/2006 2:27:09 A.M. Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: I am researching, for 25 years now, the Kitchens or any variation of the name. I have Benjamin Kitchens born 1780, GA. I cannot find his lineage. We can't even find his wife's name. He lived for a time, 1800-1810 in TN. He served in the War of 1812 two terms at Ft. Hawkins, GA. He later lived in AL, then received Bounty land in MS, he died there. Anyone having any information on any family with this name, I would love to hear from. Thanks, Gwen Kitchens Little Rock, AR This is not my line but I have been researching the Kitchens family for my cousin. This Kitchens family comes from North Carolina into Georgia. I do not find your Benjamin Kitchens but I do have a lot of Kitchens in Georgia. Do you have any other names that might be found that connect to this family? The counties in Georgia are Glascock County, Georgia, Wilkes County, Georgia and Warren County, Georgia. They seemed to come from Edgecombe County, NC to Georgia. Ann Robbins

    1. [GEORGIA] My Hersey Related Roots/often confusing
    2. Joe and Stephanie Grohol
    3. Hi... I wanted to email and try to put the following straight in my mind..... The following is how I am related to the Hersey family of Coffee and Ware Co, GA.... Ok here goes: 1. Jacob Elkanah Hersey (my great grandfather), the son of Elakanah George Washington Hersey (great great grandfather), the grandson of Thomas Hersey. Jacob married Margaret Hersey, the daughter of Enoch and Mary Bagley Hersey. Stephanie Grohol (maiden name McPherson) married Joseph Grohol jr Donnie Hodges (McPherson) married Carroll McPherson Jr Allie Hersey m. Clifford Hodges Jacob Hersey m. Margaret Hersey Elkanah Hersey m. Charlotte Surrency Thomas Hersey m. Rebecca..... Here where it gets a bit confusing...I think... 2. Margaret Hersey, the daughter of Enoch and Mary Bagley Hersey, the granddaughter of Thomas Hersey....it turns out that Enoch and Mary are also my great grandparents..... And then here it gets more weird and confusing.....Enoch and Mary are also my 2nd great grand uncle and aunt.....this way... Thomas Hersey Enoch (brother to Elkanah Hersey) Margaret (she is also my 1st cousin three times removed).....married Jacob Hersey...who being my great grandfather on one side is just a husband to her on the other side..... So that is how I am connected to the Hersey family..... Thank you for reading what I wrote.... Stephanie Grohol

    2. Kay"s Email
    3. Thanks, I think that I have taken up enough space on my problem and if anyone wants to contact me, please contact me on [email protected] That way, it will give others time too. I have a cousin that has been working on this with me, and he doesn't have the answer either. If, anyone has the school or church records, that would be most appreciated. Even school pictures. Thanks everyone, the response was more than I could have expected. Keep helping everyone, and I'll do the same. 1. [GEORGIA] Puckett name
    2. Diane Ethridge
    3. Regarding the subject of "names", my gr grandfather, Wm Samuel Puckett (marr Barber), had a brother named James TILLERO/Tillaro/Tillerow (I've seen all 3 versions) Puckett. That unusual name can also be found in the McCain, King, Davidson & Smith families, all in either GA or East AL. The name sounds either Spanish or French (with a phoenetic spelling) to me. Has anyone ever seen that name or know what it could stand for or where it came from? They, had siblings: Elizabeth (Harris), John A. (Fuller), Joseph Richard (Grubbs), Mary Ann (Smith & Hogan), Lucinda (Dunkin), Geo W. (Fuller), Phillip (died young) & Mittie Ann (who was adopted but still a Puckett & married Hembree). James Tillero Puckett married Eliza Duke. All of these Pucketts were the children of Andrew Jackson Puckett & Frances E. (Roberts) Puckett who lived in Coweta Co. GA & Frances lived later in Cherokee Co. AL. John & James T. moved to Upshur Co. TX. Wm Sam & Jos Richard moved to Columbia Co. AR. Mittie Ann moved to Walker Co. AL & the rest stayed in various counties in GA, centering around Carroll, Haralson & Forsyth Co. ANYONE having info on any of these folks, please let me know. I have lots more info & old pictures to share. They seemed to have been written out of the other Puckett & Roberts lines in the state. Thanks, Diane P. Ethridge 335 So.
