Stephanie, Do you have him in the 1900 census? If so, where was he living? Also, your birth date must be a typo. You have him born in 1885 and married in 1874. What year was he born in? Maybe 1854? I have been looking in the 1800 census and have not found him, Rachel or William. Their last name might be spelled so badly, they are not turning up. I have seen that happen and only found one ancestor while looking for a family who happened to live near him. I was looking for Jeffries and Ancestry had the name transcribed as Giffnis. Hi, At the library yesterday, I found (on Ancestry) a notation of a marriage between C. L. Burdett and Lula Hobgood, for Nov. 16, 1890, in Fayette County. I think this is the couple I was looking for, but it would be good to know (for sure) what the "C. L." stood for. There was a Clarence L. Burdett who died in Atlanta, at 13 Ft Hood Street, on September 29, 1907 (age of 37). The next day's obituary states that he was married (but no wife's name) and had two children (also unnamed). His burial was at Hollywood Cemetery. It would also be great to know the names of the two children! I had thought there was only one, just Earl. Oh, I think that 'Hobgood' was sometimes spelled Hopgood... Thanks for any ideas. Allen

I lived in the area in the late 50s and early 60s. Claire Drive was near Lakewood Park, but I do not remember a medical institution or hospital. BUT that was a while back and hard for this old brain to remember everything. Looks to me like, from the way it was phrased that he was in a wooded area near that address.
