This may or may not help some of you trying to find that illusive link. I found a substantial number of GEORGE in a Cornish Mining Index you can download at http://www.cornwall-online.co.uk/genealogy.htm It is a zip file with about 14,000 names. There is also a marriage witness index at the same site. If you misplace the URL, you can get there from my Census on line page later. -- Robert L. Hi all, I wanted to let everyone know that I've just updated my web pages in regards to the Colonel John GEORGE family of Virginia. Previously the page was an outline from John down to my grandmother's generation, but now I've updated it to include much more information on John's descendants, at least down to 9 generations. Any comments will be welcomed. The address is: http://users.aol.com/martygrant/pages/george.htm If anyone has information to add or has questions about what I have listed, please let me know! Hello, I am seeking any information about my gggrandparents. Esther George was probably from either New Bedford or possibly Barnstable, MA. She married Manuel Cole who was born on May 14, 1926 in the Western Islands of Portugal. He arrived in New Bedford in June 1843. Esther George and Manuel Cole married and had two sons: William Manuel Cole, born in 1859 and another son named John. They moved to Falmouth, Maine some time after 1860. Both Esther George Cole and Manuel Cole are buried in Pine Grove Cemetary in Falmouth, Maine, but I have not been able to find death certificates for either of them. I would appreciate any information. Many thanks, Jean

I'd appreciate any help I could get on finding the connection between a WILLIAM H. GEORGE, FANNIE N. GEORGE and CHARLES J. GEORGE who are buried in Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick, Ga. to a MISS ANNIE ELIZABETH PARHAM who is buried with them. ANNIE died in 1957, a daughter of WILL B. PARHAM and FANNIE MARTIN. How do all of these families fit together??? My grandfather, COLONEL ABRAHAM MARTIN had married briefly in 1900 to a MARY DUKES GEORGE of Wayne County. One child was born to them and they divorced shortly after that. Melissa, Hi! I'm afraid I can't help you much. While it is possible that a branch of my ancestry travelled down to Georgia, I don't have any knowledge of them. The only family line that I know of travelled out through Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio to Indiana, where my Great-Grandfather was born. I'm not sure why my Grandfather's middle name was Sherman, but since he was born in 1865 I would guess it had something to do with General Sherman, something that seems unlikely for Georgians. I would be interested to hear, though, if you do find any links to my George line. Stan At 10:27 AM 10/24/97 -0500, you wrote: >Stan, > Hi, I am curios about your GEORGE's. Florence, Thanks for responding! Unfortunately, the information that I have indicates that my line passed through Virginia, into what is now West Virginia, on to Ohio, and finally settled in Indiana by 1838. They appear to have been Quakers, for the most part. I don't have much information on whereabouts for relations outside of my own line.
