    3. I don't recognize any GEORGE names from your email, but my eldest GEORGE was born in South Carolina and moved to Henry County, Georgia. He was David GEORGE, Sr. (b.abt 1874, SC - d.abt 1861, Henry County, GA). He married a Sarah (b. abt 1791, SC - d. abt 1876, Henry County, Georgia) They had the following children: Margaret, Joshua, Marth, Hansford D., David Jr., Mary, Jennings, Louisa, Jesse Newton, Carey W., Andrew J., and Sarah A. GEORGE. Is anyone else researching these people in Henry County, Georgia. 1. Robert Fredrick George
    2. A periodic request for information from anyone who is a child or grandchild (or even great grand child) of Robert Fredrick George from a second (or third) marriage. He is my paternal grandfather from his first marriage. He was in Illinois from at least 1919 through 1926 and was born somewhere, probably on this planet, about 1890-95. Family rumor is he ended up in California prior to WWII, but that may be just a UFO report. -- Robert L. 1. My George Family
    2. Frederick George Georgia Notes 1. Frederick George married Martha Alsabrook in Jones County, Georgia on 25 January 1821 (GA Marriages, Book A, 1811 - 1828).. The third child of Delilah George and William Clements was named Rollings Alserbrook Clements. There is a family tradition that Rollings' middle name was the maiden name of an ancestor (his grandmother Martha Alsabrook?) 2. 1832 GA Gold Lands Lottery. Frederick George, a resident of Gunn's District, Jones County GA won Lot 1168 in District 18 of Section 3. He also won Lot 332 in District 2 of Section 3. 3. State Census for Cobb County for 1834 - Frederick George was not enumerated. Checked a transcription of the Bond Book and didn't find him in the partial transcription. The Cobb County Genealogical Society has published 3 volumes of Cemetery Surveys. There were several George's but no mention of Martha. 4. Checked abstract of the 1840 Cobb Census. Frederick George is listed in Cobb County in Militia District #942 on page 248. In his household is 1 male age 4-50, 1 male age 15-20, 2 males age 10-15, 1 male age 5-10, 1 female age 15-20, 2 females age 10-15, 2 females age 5-10. It doesn't appear that Martha was alive at the time of this census. It appears she died 1835-1840. 5. Checked the abstracts of the GA Journal published at Milledgeville GA and didn't find any reference for them. Checked the abstracts of the Baptist & the Methodist papers for any obituaries but failed to find any mention. 6. References for Frederick in abstracts of the Union Recorder of Milledgeville GA. Issue of 12-Jan-1841 A List of Letters remaining in the Post Office at Marietta, Cobb County GA on the first day of January 1841: Frederick George. Issue of 31-Jan-1843. GA Frederick George is listed in Cobb County in Militia District #942 on page 248. In his household are 1 male age 45-50 - (Frederick) 1 male age 15-20 - (William) 2 males age 10-15 - (James, ?) 1 male age 5-10 - (?) 1 female age 15-20 (?) 2 females age 10-15 - (Sharlotte, ?) 2 females age 5-10 - (Martha) Texas Notes 1. 1850 Census - Travis County, Texas (Ser. No. 148) shows the following Francis George - 58 - M - W - $200 - North Carolina William George - 26 - M - W - Georgia James George - 23 - M - W - Georgia Scharlott George - 19 - F - W - Georgia Delila George - 16 - F -W - Georgia Martha George - 15 - F - W - Georgia It is presumed that Francis George in this census record is the same person as Frederick George in the records cited below and is the father of the five children listed in the 1850 census. 2. Blount Clements married Charlotte George (6 February 1851 - Travis County, TX), and William Clements married first Martha George (12 June 1851 - Travis County, TX), and second Delilah George (25 June 1866 - Travis County, TX). 3. There is a Petition for Partition of Land in Clarksville, Red River County, Texas for Almira George, Administratix of the estate of Fleming George, deceased, filed in 1857. Heirs are listed as: William George, James George, Eliza Wilson, Martha George, Charles George, and Robert George. William and James are listed as residents of the state of California. This George family may not be related, however they are listed in the event that ties might be made at some later time. Note that the names of some of the children are the same (i.e William, James, Martha) and that the Clements initially received land grants in Red River County, so it is possible that the George and Clements families were neighbors in Red River County and moved together to Travis County where they intermarried. 4. Martha George is presumed to have died while residing in Old Cora, then county seat of Comanche County, TX. The 1860 Census shows William and Martha Clements and five children residing there. Blount Clements and wife Charlotte George and four children were also there. Martha had to have died shortly after the birth of their last child, Blount Andrew Clements on 12 May 1865 in Comanche County. Less than a year later William was back in Travis County and married Martha's sister Delilah (25 June 1866). 5. Travis County Records: VQ p.82 - Wm. W. George of Williamson County deeded 29 June 1863 to Blount Clements tract of land (143 acres) granted to Wm. Wilkes (by patent) 5 Oct 1847. Deeded to Wm. W. George, father Frederick George and brother, James George divised by 1st 1/3 by purchase of Wm. Wilks remainder as heir-at-law of father, Frederick George, deceased prior to 1863. 6. VH p. 88 recorded grant of water rights between Sherman Case and Frederick George. Mar 24, 1854. 7. VK pps. 437 and 438 -- Wm. Wilks deeded to Frederick George, Wm. George, and James George on Little Walnut Creek. Notarized 30 April 1856, recorded 1 May 1856. Note that the Clements also were deeded property on Little Walnut Creek in Travis County. 8. VX pps. 34-36 -- Deed from Martha and Delilah George of Comanche County, heirs of Frederick George, deceased, to Blount Clements of Travis County for $850 12 July 1864. 9. 1830 Census of Jones County, Georgia shows Frederick George as Head of Household with 1 male under 5, 2 males 5-10, 1 male 30-40, 2 females under 5, 1 female 5-10, and 1 female 30-40. 10. There was a James George who died at the Alamo. This is not a member of our George family. I believe that he came out of Pennsylvannia. 11. Correspondence from Georgetta Clements to Aunt Polly Griffin dated 1887 in Austin, TX states, "We heard from Uncle Bill George's family last week."
