Hello, Though I did not see the ancestor I am searching for, I do have a question. My g-g-grandmother was Mary Ann Peake from Manchester, England. She was born August 6, 1828 or 1829. Came to the United States around 1843-1844 as best I can figure. Mary Ann married James Smith on December 28, 1847 in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed away on May 7, 1855 of Cholera in Missouri. Mary Ann may have had a sister Alice who married a Higgs. They were all from England. After all of that, my question is this. Could the surname have been spelled Peeke as well as Peake ? This is all I have been able to find out about my g-g-grandmother.
