    3. I thought this might be of interest to the Gen-WI members and would request, if any readers can help, that they contact the original poster, Braun, below. Any one on the WI list doing Bulgaria? In 1887 and even perhaps as late as the time of World War One Bulgaria was still under Turkish control, which could be an explaination for the 'Istanbul' birthplace. But please contact the original poster with suggestions.
