May 1 1903, Dallas Twp., the dau. of Sidney & Julia (O'Flanagan) Cole. She grew up & attended school in the Dallas area. On June 8, 1923, she mar. Hobart McKinley Smith in Dallas, WI. They res. in the Dallas area & later moved to the city of Barron. She had lived in Burlington, WI., since 1959. She was a member of Cross Luth. Church, Burlington. She is surv. by sons Marshall (Rose) Smith of Jim Falls, WI., Gary (Joan) Smith of Hayward, Wis., Niles Smith of St. Paul, MN., & Terence Smith of Burlington, WI; dau. Jelaine Gruber of Burlington, WI; 14 grandchildren; 33 gr. grandchildren; 21 gr. gr. grandchildren; & sister Irma Oscar of Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by her husb.; 1 son, Curtis Smith; 1 grandson, Michael Gruber; 1 gr. grandson, Chad Peterson; 2 gr. gr. granddaus., Kaitlyn & Kendra Toutant; 5 sisters Mabel, Myrtle, Gertie, Jane & Lottie; 3 bros., Peter, Clark, & Bill.
