    1. Re: Find 1885 Wisconsin Death?
    2. Hi Marilyn! I haven't seen this suggested yet, so I thought I'd throw this out in case it helps. I don't know how big the lumbering industry was in Jackson County, but I know Jackson County had a very large Norwegian immigrant population. I have two Norwegian families, HANSON (who were STUBRUD before emigrating) and BENSON (who were IVERSON before emigrating). In the BENSON family, Simon BENSON (my gr-great grandmother's brother) became a giant in the lumber industry out in the Pacific Northwest, and his father Berger IVERSON/BENSON, worked in lumber camps in the Black River Falls, Jackson Co., area after emigrating in 1867, according to a book on Simon BENSON. I also have a GREEN family in the area who owned a mill. The Black River Falls library has an excellent history section, and the history librarian is very helpful. Good luck! Cami <<I looking for a needle in a haystack. I am seeking information about Abraham Olson/Olsen Mjeld, who immigrated from Norway in 1882 and, according to family information, died in a logging accident in Wisconsin in 1885. I am particularly interested in learning where in Wisconsin he lived. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding him? Does anyone have information on which Wisconsin counties had logging industries in 1885? Thanks. Marilyn>>
