Hi! I'm looking for information on my 2g-grandparents, Dr. William J. & Adeline KNAPP. Any help would be appreciated... I have very little data on them, here is what I have. William J. KNAPP b. about 1824 in Ohio (found in 1880 Patoka, Marion Co., IL census, he is listed as 56 yrs old) occupation: Physician Adeline ???? (found in 1880 Patoka, Marion Co., IL census, she is listed as 42 yrs old) b. about 1838 in Tennessee Children from the 1880 census: Retta or Bertha N. KNAPP (22 yrs, Illinois, school teacher) Mariah E. KNAPP (21 yrs, Illinois, school teacher) Jeneva or Geneva E. KNAPP (19 yrs, Illinois) William L. KNAPP (17 yrs, Illinois) Losala or Lorala T. KNAPP (15 yrs, Illinois) Myslie or Myrtle M. KNAPP (13 yrs, Illinois) Susan P. KNAPP (8 yrs, Illinois) Hugh R. Maybe some mistakes were meant to be. My Amanda Knapp was b. 1825 in New York but family tradition has listed has as from Ohio. She is my brick wall, as she died in 1858 in Wisconsin -- too early for obits or death index. And the 1850 census doesn't list parents' birthplaces. So I have no idea who her parents were. Any help would be greatly appreciated on where I should look next. BTW, Sue, I live in Colorado Springs.
