KNAPP is such a common name here in northwestern Wisconsin. KNAPP, STOUT & Co. was a lumbering company, along with WEYERHAEUSER Lumber & ARPIN Lumber responsible for clearing off the huge white pine forests here. I live on Knapp St. in Chetek. There is a Knapp St. in Rice Lake. Knapp WI. is on Hwy. 12 west of Menomonie. Do you know any more about the KNAPPs?

I sent this message to the Wisconsin Genealogy list by mistake, I had meant to send it to the Illinois list. But maybe it was a good mistake. It might be possible that some of the KNAPP's in Wisconsin might be related to the KNAPP's in Illinois.
