In the time period 1932-1935 my dad was living in Kenosha, WI. Don't rule out Las Vegas.... that is where I finally found one.... People really do "run off" and get married.

    3. Rockford, Ill was also a favorite place to run off and get married. My grandparents eloped there (1926) because his family was opposed to the marriage (He was English, she was German -- horrors!). I've heard of the same thing happening in families where the couple belongs to two different religious denominations.
