Hi, I live in WA. state. Battleground, WA. is alive and well. Could they have meant WA and not WI? First it might be helpful to know just who is buried there and when. We might be able to identify where they were buried if we can find out where and when they lived. As to Battleground, there are a number of populated places, including the one here in Washington. There are probably a large number of Battleground cemeteries. Including the Battleground National Cemetery in Washington DC, one in Indiana, Montana, Alabama, Idaho, Arkansas, etc.
