Many of the bios give data on parents going back to early 1800s (a few into 1700s), immigration route/time; trace moves the family made, where parents died, marriages to who and when, Civil war entry and muster out dates, kids names, birthdates, all kinds of goodies! Most center on people born ca 1840-60, but have the above info too. Neat resource. Take the data with a grain of salt of course! Certainly not a primary record, but has many good leads to them.
