Hi, back in Illinois, when I got married in 1955 (like someone else said, BIG MISTAKE), marrying age for the female was 18 and the males had to be 21, (his momma had to go with us and sign for him, she should have not signed, but then she was already living with some guy and was considered "common law" married.) It was so embarrassing, I should have caught on then, but what do they say, "at that age, you're young and dumb!" Hope this adds to your query some..................Patti...............
