Hi You might try page 233 listing of DAVIS in the state listing of civil war people. There are lots of Edward Davis also Edgar W Davis. Their web site is http://www.shsw.wisc.edu/roster/searchresults.asp?alpha=da The Davis in my family tree was Roscom W. Davis, from Adams County, WI and moved into IA after the war.
