Using the book "Wisconsin, Its Counties, Townships & Villages" (published in 1994 by Origins, Janesville, WI) as my reference, I'd say there is nothing even close to the name *if* it had been based on a written primary source. But a birth place given in a death record might well be based only on a spoken reference. There is a Schaack in Rib Lake Township, Taylor County. Does any list member with an interest in Taylor County know how this name is pronounced? That is, upon only *hearing* the name, could one think there was a hard consonant in the middle of the name.
