I am (and have been for more than 30 years) working on trying to complete a study of the people involved in the STRANGITE group, the followers of James Jesse Strang after the death of the Mormon prophet, Joseph Smith, in 1844. I got involved because some of MY OWN ancestry were participants in the early early days of Mormonism and then didn't follow Brigham Young to the Great Salt Lake valley, but instead followed JJStrang. It has been a fascinating trail! I enthusiastically seek descendants from the Strangites and may be able to help some of them with their family history. So....if you know of any....pass them my way.
