I did some work on the Holland's in the Delavan Circus' for the WSGS newsletter, which has not been printed yet. This was for Walworth County. What I found was from the following: Delavan, Wisconsin Circus Historical Souvenir Magazine of 1970 "Delavan, 19th Century Circus Capital" Compiled by W. Gordon Yadon & these excerpts are now submitted by Peggy Rockwell Gleich 1)BUCKLEY's NATIONAL Circus (1856-1857). Organized by Harry BUCKLEY, former Mabie performer and executive. Opened 1856 in Delavan. Buckley was owner, Oscar HYATT, manager; Walter WATERMAN, equestrian, director; Fred WILSON, clown; J. KINSLOW, band leader; H.B. NETTLETON, advance agent; John HOLLAND family of equestrians and leapers, Herr BEACH, strong man, Signor L. GERMINI, Italian juggler on horseback, HOLLAND & BEACH trapeze act; 2)HOLLAND-MOSHER Circus (1858). Organized by John HOLLAND in partnership with J.E. MOSHER. Featured the Holland family of equestrians, leapers and vaulters. Quartered on Holland's farm on prairie between Delavan and Elkhorn; 3)HOLLAND - MADDEN Circus (1860-1861). John HOLLAND & George MADDEN, prop. Married Mary HOLLAND, daughter of John and Honora HOLLAND. 4) HOLLAND - MCMAHON WORLD's Circus (1885-1886). Edward F. HOLLAND & Charles & John McMAHON, famous equestrians, owners. 1885. 5) HOLLAND - GORMELY ALLIED Circus (1888-1889). Everett & Frank GORMELY & Edward F. HOLLAND were all partners. 6) UNITED CIRCUS (1890). Wagon show owned by Edward F. HOLLAND, James R. McLAUGHLIN & Professor BOWMAN. Featured Leaper Sam BENNETT; Prof. BARTHOLOMEW, balloonist; HOLLAND family of riders; a human cannon ball act; clown brigade; Prof. HEALD's band and a small menagerie. 7) VAN AMBURGH CIRCUS (1891). James STURTEVANT, a Delavan grocer & Edward F. HOLLAND, owners. 8) PROF. BLACK'S WILD ANIMAL EXHIBITION (1892). Small menageries & trained pony act that joined the E.G. HOLLAND circus for the season., 9) E. G. HOLLAND & Co. RAILROAD Circus (1892-1894). E. G. HOLLAND & F. D. GORMELY co-owned last bonafide Delavan circus. (Used with permission of the author.) And the Walworth County Genealogical Society has many circus performer burials listed in the publications the society has for sale. We do many look-ups also. Chas... We on aol don't have to worry about it. Our email automatically "snips" the previous post out of the reply. In fact if we want to have it sent we have to highlight it before hitting reply. When we do the email starts out with what we wanted repeated and who said it and what was said. Just like below from your previous email. I believe almost all other providers email automatically leaves the pervious post included in the reply. Hi everyone, I hope you labor day weekend went well for you and those with children must be happy to have some extra quailty time for research ;) In reading the digests I noticed people are not _snipping_ the orginal email when responding to others. Some time ago it was decided 3 times of doing this and the person/s would be removed from the list. I am not going into details again on the frustration of this type of thing .. but some are not paying attention again. I don't want to have to enforce these rules.. they are sooooooooo easy... please just help those who read the digest to be able to enjoy it vs scrolling down through repeats of emails. If you don't know what this looks like in an email. Write to me at kingsley@aol.com and I will send you one. A person can handle this once in the while but when the digest has the original emal and 2-3-4- or more.. repeats by the way of replying then it is tiresome for all on the digest list. Sorry to be such a stickler but I started this list for research and enjoyment - if folks cannot enjoy the list they won't stick around to help _ maybe one of you. This is a great list.. very helping list. We have over 600+ subscribers so.. once again.. let's clean up our acts. Thanks Brenda K. Wolfgram Moore GenWis Mailing List Host

Thought this might be of help all the way around now that the subject is being pursued. http://www.uscourts.gov/links.html http://www.wiwd.uscourts.gov/ seems to be a legit site - just none functioning at the moment. Rose Marie, I'm sorry, but I have to beg to differ. On the WI Circuit Court I found both of my brother's divorces. I also found many of other things on there too and they were not misdemeanors. Just try checking on a few people you know and you will be surprised at what you find. John, As for the website that you checked out and gave you credit card number to.....I checked the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau and as of right now they have now record of the site. Get ahold of you credit card company and cancel, please. Even though it has a "government address" doesn't mean anything. Please just cover your tushy and call your company. Michelle
John, I believe I was the one who gave you that web site url (which is apparently not working now). The site I gave you is (was) a Federal Court Jurisdiction web site. I believe you mentioned the case you are searching for was a discrimination case, which would have been tried in a Federal Court. The most recent url, http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl, is a Wisconsin Circuit Court access website. The case you are looking for will not be found in State court records. With all the electrical outages attributed to hurricane Frances, it could well be that somehow the access to the Federal Court System web site has been affected by the hurricane. Web sites route in who-knows-what-direction and some system currently down in Flordia could indeed be affecting a Wisconsin information web site. Shari > Holly, > Thanks for posting that site. I missed part of this thread. Current court information is available free through checking through google: WI circuit court access. It will take you to the site to search by name. . It almost seems like the solution is too simple, so perhaps that's not what you meant. Hi All, I think that site is a scam also, try this one: http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl no charge, and I have found many divorce records on it- maybe not way back, but within the last 10 years.
