    1. Neglected cemeteries
    2. The Wisconsin Sons of the American Revolution worked on clearing a neglected cemetery last summer. Located near Clyman, WI it had been abandoned to nature's encroaching growth of trees and shrubs. Our interest was that there supposedly was a Revolutionary War Veteran buried there. Upon our arrival it had the appearance of a jungle and no clue there was a cemetery under the growth. After a day's work, we were able to make some progress. As the angle of the sun changed I was able to see many rectangular shapes of gravesites, few broken stones were left. I found a Bigelow stone that was legible. Not a real lot more was found and not the evidence of the Rev. War veteran. Bob Granger excarmaker@aol.com

    3. This is so exciting to find some one interested in our old cemeterys to help fix them up . Last year year when I went to Mo to take Cemetery pictures I found the cemetery my grandfather in in a mess. I gave $50 to a lady who was taking care of it but in the fall when I went back down found it still not well taken care of . Was so upset did some calling around about it and do not knowwhat happened few weeks age went down there and it looks so great . I will have to find out who did it and give them something for the care. A few weeks ago I was looking for another cemetery and found it . The farmer next door said it had not been mowed in 3 years . The head stones in the cemetery are very nice stone not just the little ones. The berry thorns tore at my Jeans and I was so glad that I had put my sweater back in the care.. I was about to give up when I saw a stone undder a foot of grass. It was one I was looking for . there was 2 more I would have liked to have found but I just gave up as this was not my family I was looking for. When I got back home and looked over the cemetery list I find there are 2 names that are interesting to me. I pland to write the Trenton Paper and do some complaining . 1. Fred & Elizabeth Wangeline
    2. Kathy
    3. Hi, I have since found in census that Elizabeth Koehnke married Fred Wangeline sometime before 1871 when their 1st child Hilda or Hulda was born then William in 1873 & Elmer in 1880 or 1881 all in Wisconsin Fred died betw 1900 & 1910. Elmer died betw 1910 & 1920. I cannot locate the family in 1880 in ANY state. I looked at every Wangelin & Wangeline in 1880 Family Search Census & I come up empty. Also checked Wangelien, Wangelein to no luck. Checked message boards & only people listed from Chicago or Waupaca County, Wi are listed. Any help on this family much appreciated. 1900-1910-1920 are always listed in Waterford Racine Co. Kathy

    2. Kathy, Just one more thing. In the 1910 and 1920 only the heads of house hold are indexed that's why you couldn't find her. You have to look for a possible sibling born in Wisconsin in that area. That's how I found her. Cindy

    2. Kathy, Just checked 1920 and could not even find Elmer. I found William with wife Augusta in same place and no children, but no Elmer in the whole state. Don't know where to look next. Any idea's? I tried everything in manipulating the search boxes with Ancestry and nothing close comes up. Cindy

    3. Cindy, Thank you so much. No wonder we could not find her. The person giving the info stated her residence wrong. It was not Watertown but Waterford. I had someone look in Waterford since some Koehnke relatives were from that area but was told Elizabeth was not listed in the town so took persons word for it since is quite reliable. Kathy . 3. Rienzi cemetery in Fond du Lac cty is one of the most fascinating cemeteries I have ever visited. It is very old, I believe the first cemetery of the county. Has a Greek section, Jewish section, childrens section and even an animal section. The caretakers there are very helpful in helping you locate the grave site. The cemetery has an office on main street in Fond du Lac. If you call and give the name of the person, they will tell you what section the grave is located in. Rienzi Cemetery Association 104 S.
