    2. You wrote, "Reached a brick wall in my search for Margaret Nelson, nee Tallaksen Margaret/Margrete Tallaksen was born 20 April 1853; parents Salve Talaksen and Berthe Halvorsdtr. She lived with her parents in Port Washington Ozaukee County until her marriage in 1874 to Ole Nelson (1851-1923). Margaret & Ole next appear in the 1880 US census, running a boarding house in Northfield, Rice County, MN. I do not know if the couple remained in MN, came back to WI or moved farther west. In 1920 Ole reappears alone in St.Paul MN, he died in 1923 as a widower" Was Margaret also known as Bertha Marie b. 1852. She is the right age and only daughter that I see of Salve Tallaksen who is the same age as the Margaret that I see with Ole Nelson in 1880. If they are the same person, she died in 1886. I hope this helps. Stephanie

    1. George B. Lillie - Aug 1862 to Jan 1940
    2. Due to the divorce of my grandparents, I never knew the Lillie's and I everything I now know is from cousins I have never met. I am asking if anyone on the list has a clear picture of George LILLIE born in Wausua, Wisconsin. He married Belle Smith and they had 10 children all born in the Wausau area. I would love pictures of any of the Lillie family or they descendents. But George is my great grandfather, and would love to know what he looked like. I have one of his mother Lura Ammerman Lillie (thanks to MaryBeth Boeslager) but to my knowledge there are none of Daniel (who died in 1893). Again, I would love scans or copies of any Lillie family members or descendants. It's the closest I have of "knowing" them. (ummm, old originals are gladly accepted, but only wishfully hoped for) Thanks.

    1. MCLEAN
    2. Diana Owen
    3. Karen Keyser, I notice you mention the John McLean, you were looking for, had family in Washington State. My former father-in-law was named John G. (Jack) McLean. He was born Dec 15 before 1920, possibly in Mineral, WA and lived his adult life in Tacoma, WA. He married Martha Hoyt (daughter of John F. Hoyt). John McLean died in the late 1970's. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad. John/Jack McLean's mother's name was Inez (maiden name unknown) and I believe his father was Don/Donald McLean and he may have also worked for the Milwaukee RR. I remember Inez refering to her deceased husband as "Don". John McLean had a sister named "Jane", who married a Victor Klemencic, a career Army man. They were stationed in Germany and then I visited them in the area of Newport News, VA in 1969. Jane McLean Klemencic's widowed mother Inez (Unknown) McLean lived and traveled with them until her death in VA 1975. Jane and Victor Klemencic probably retired from the military and could still be living in VA. They had three sons, whose names I don't remember. John and Jane McLean had a younger brother named Jerry (probably Gerald) McLean, who lived in Ephrata, WA and died in the 1980's. Also, an older brother Patrick McLean, second wife Marjorie, who also retired from the Milwaukee Railroad and they moved to Mile City, MT. John McLean talked about family lore indicating, his ancestors originally came from Canada and that his surname then was spelled MACLean. I knew this family from 1963 until their deaths. I do not remember them talking about extended family in Oregon. This is sketchy information, but I am posting it in the hopes it might be helpful to you in your search for the ancestors of John McLean, b 1843. Good Luck, Diana Chapman Owen Karen Keyser wrote: >Hi all, > >John McLean is my brick wall. > >John was born April 14, 1843 in New Brunswick, Canada to John McLean and Esther Thompson.
