    1. [GenWisconsin] National Cemetery Protection Act
    2. Stacey K. Barton
    3. Hello, folks. I got this from another list and thought I would pass it along. Stacey Krueger Barton Researching: Krueger, Burns, Zick, Morrell, Buestrin, Cramer/Kramer, Tetzlaff, and many others. Hi Fellow Researchers, I have just read and signed this online petition: "National Cemetery Protection Act" hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition service, at: http://www.petitiononline.com/sg0001/petition.html I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider signing yourself. Several years ago I was witnessed two headstones that had been removed from their base by vandals. This was at a local cemetery, what I witnessed really got to me as the caretaker of the cemetery proceeded to back his truck up and toss both stones into the back of the truck, breaking one of them. When I got a bit upset and asked why in the world he did that, why didn't he simply find the grave and place them back, I was told that the graves were old, the families don't care anymore and he simply didn't have the time. This kind of stuff we need to put a stop too. Major legislation is necessary NOW!!!

    2. Address for the Newberry Library is; 60 West Walton St. Chicago, IL. 60610-3380 312-943-9090 Hours are; Tue thru Fri 10:00 to 6:00 and Sat. 9:00 to 5:00 They do have a website, http://www.NEWBERRY.ORG I would suggest you get there as early as possilble, you have to get a library card, it's free but they run you up and down stairs for that. You have to order any copying to be done, it's $2.00 a page. Lots of books to go through, some of them are reference books to other books that might reference you to something else, you have to fill out "call" forms and have the books delivered to your table. Census films and Chicago directory microfilms are a walk in and view deal, one printer tho, think that was 75 cents a copy for that. People are helpful. Cidney
