    3. Janet, If you can pinpoint the county you are searching, most often the county seat for might have pre-1907 vitals. If you do not know the county--you might want to proceed to www.usgenweb.org/NY and try posting a query. I live in Amherst (suburb of Buffalo, NY) if I can be of some assistance, let me know. I have a LDS library within minutes of my home. 3. On both my WoodCoWI and PortageCoWI Archive pages, the search engine doesn't work. I get a stupid msg which doesn't mean anything to me. Inez pointed it out below... Any ideas? Pages are at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/wood/wood.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/portage/portage.htm Even the one on the WI pages does it: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/wifiles.htm Although I am putting this on the mailing lists, I am really asking ONLY for other CC's who have the same search engine and FIXED it to reply. If you don't KNOW the answer for sure, please don't send "did you try this or that"... I had both feet operated on and my time on the computer is limited, as they HURT like the dickens. Thanks in advance. R/S MAK Inez, Are you sending me this to ask what to do? I am the webmaster and don't know what happened. It was working fine and then rootsweb changed over. I am aware of problem and will try to fix. Am sending to the Mailing List for CC's in hopes someone else had the problem and fixed it. Thanks. 2. Hi Cathy, The bio that followed in this email was for Frank Garrison. This is the same Garrison I had requested a bio of for Wood county. I was just wondering if there was a mistake. Frank lived and died (1905) in Centralia, Wood. Thanks for posting all of the bio's, I am sure you have made a lot of people happy. 1. [GenWisconsin] Rescom Davis
    2. Sally
    3. Hi Thought I would share that in a Adams County History Book entitled From Past to Present A History of Adams County. This book was published 1999 by the Adams Historical Society. There is only one mention of a Davis surname. And all it says is: In 1847, Ephraim and L:ucinda Hecocks came up the Pinery Road and squatted on the land near the town line and built what has been called the first frame house in Dell Prairie town. The DAVIS family then came along, settled a few miles west of Jordan Lake and gave their name to the junction of pinery road and four other trails__Davis Corners In this book there is also mention of Davis Corners Methodist Church. Also a Davis Corners School. Well thats about it. Thought I would share.

    1. Re: [GenWisconsin] Reply About Bio Requests
    2. Hi Judy, I only have vols 1 and 2 of the History of Northern WI (going back to library Mon), and Fond du Lac isn't in either volume. There is a 3rd volume. My guess is that it's in that volume. Try interlibrary loan and I bet you can get a Fond du Lac County History that would have more bios in it anyway. I'll be adding more bios all the time, for various counties. Have you tried using the search engine on the biography page? Checking the box will pull up the surname you are looking for in the body of other bios as well as all those with that surname in the title. Go to the URL listed below and Click on Biographies in the left-hand column. Good luck in your research. If I can be of any assistance in the future, please let me know.
