I found both my Grandfather AND his sister, his sister was thought to have no birth record. Many years ago she needed one as a dependant for her military son. They had to "create" a birthday for her as they were not sure of the exact date so made up May 21st, 1904. On this site I found her, AND the reason they could find no birth record for her. Her last name was DUNAVEN, her birth record contains a typo and it is registered as DUNAVER. They guessed her birthday to be May 21st, close, it was may 24th, 1904. I sure was glad to have found this information. Cindy in Oregon

I just became the WIGenExchange SC this year, and need to acquire a good background in the history and settlement of Wisconsin. These bios are helping to give me just that! There were 3640 posted the last time I looked. Knocking off one county at a time til they're all posted, or until the Library Police come and take me away for overdue books... I'm hoping to inspire other states to post theirs as well, especially since GenExchange now has a national biography search engine for all counties/all states. I just love new toys! I am looking for descendants of Mary born 1871, Henry Dietrich born 1883, Louise Frieda born 1888, and Edward born 1891. This family had a brother John in St. Paul Minn. and a sister Bertha who has descendants in and around Spooner Wisc. There is an Edward Nehring on the SSDI Died 1969, Residence: 53952 Packwaukee, Marquette, WI and his SS was issued in IA. All these people were born in IA. I have photos of them in Minn. My grandparents went to the Stillwater area to visit relatives, early 1900's. Is there anyone that can give me any clues or leads? Thank you. Sincerely, Georgia Bruns

Robin: There was a small villiage of Erin Prairie in St. Croix County, just east of Hudson, WI. Loads of Irish settled there. The town/villiage is no longer there bur ERIN CORNERS is still there. None of the business' are there but just up the road is the beautiful St. Patrick's church with adjoining cemetery. I have been researching Erin Praire/ St. Croix County records for over 7 years so if I can help just let me know! ALL my family came from the townships around Erin Prairie. If U live near by it is worth a trip just to see the beauty of the countryside. I can help with resources in Erin.
EDEN PRAIRIE is a suburb of Minneapolis MN and Erin Prairie/Corners is in St. Croix County WI
erin Prairie is in St. Criox county. It is up by New Richmond. My ggrandparents are buried in st. patrick's cemetry there. There is no town there now just a bar. Dorothy

Has anyone heard of this town? My grandmother was born there in 1902. I am guessing Dunn Co. as her family were from Downing, Boyceville, etc. Thanks in advance for any assistance. Robin
