Hi Debi, Dousman is in Waukesha County, and if you write to the Register of Deeds in Waukesha County, you will get much faster service than if you write to the state. Death records cost $7.00. Register of Deeds Waukesha County 515 W. Moreland Blvd Waukesha WI 53188 Nancy
Clear DayHi Everyone: I need to request a Death Certificate and was hoping someone could tell me what the going rate is for this. The person I'm looking for passed away in Dousman. Do you know what county that would be in? Should I order this from the county or state? And if it would be quicker to order it from the county, could I get the address? Thanks for your help. Debi
Can anyone tell me where the 51st Wisconsin Infantry in the Civil War was formed? Thanks. kathy

I found a listing: Alice Wendt/Index to the Ozaukee County - Declaration of Intent * Naturalization - Wi State Genealogical Society/Newsletter Jan 1988 Page 199-200 for Martin Prince. Can anyone help me? I tried my search engine, but nothing came up. Thanks, Joanne
Might someone here know what the hours are for genealogical research in the Register of Deeds Office for Rock and Walworth Counties? Thanks also to all who responded to my request for this information for Richland Co. several weeks ago. I was there last Friday and wound up needing all 6 hours. If it hadn't been for your help I would never have gotten all of my research done in one day. The drive west of Madison is truly beautiful, too. Thanks. Can someone help me figure how best to find a couple birth records in Wisconsin? I just found out that my grandmother and her brother were born in Wisconsin. I do not know the name of the county or counties where they were born. My grandmother was born 25 July 1889. Her name was Helena Cisewski. Her parents were John and Annie Cisewski. Her brother was Frank Walter Cisewski and he was supposedly born at Tarff, Wisconsin 3 Dec 1892. I believe Tarff was a mining camp. Another problems is that I have found the name Cisewski spelled about 15 different ways. Some have a "z" in it some have a "y" in it. I looked at the web site for requesting birth records and it appeared to me that I had to know the county of birth. ANY HELP WOULD VERY MUCH BE APPRECIATED.. Dan Grammer Marietta, Ohio
Hi Joanne, Actually the only listing I can find is for a Matthew Prince. Vol. 18. p. 106. In the beginning of this index it says that the original records may be obtained from the Register of Deeds Office in Port Washington. Microfilm copies are at UW-Milwaukee Area Research Center. Example of what may be found on the index card would be name, place and year of birth, Date and Port of Arrival, Date of Declaration, the Court and volume and page number of document. Good Luck, Jo > I found a listing: Alice Wendt/Index to the Ozaukee County - > Declaration of Intent * Naturalization - Wi State Genealogical > Society/Newsletter Jan 1988 Page 199-200 > for Martin Prince. I am looking for the Flink Family, I have heard that Ida Flink married a White, And she had two sons, and they live in Wisconsin. I have a picture of Gust Flink, Carolina Flink, Id Flink White, Augusta Flink Charley Flink or Alexander Flink. Does anyone have any information on the Whites. Thanks Pat
My grandmother, born in Wisconsin in 1900, lost her citizenship when she married my grandfather, native of Germany, in 1920. The bad thing was she didn't even know it until many years later when she went to apply for something. She DID NOT automatically become a citizen when my grandfather was naturalized. She had to go through the process herself. And she did this in the 1940s.
