    3. With AOL I received e-mail as one e-mail. I now have a cable connection and each message is a separate message. Some messages come with Part 1.1, Part 1.2 etc. It is annoying to go from one to the next. Is there a solution to this? Marnie

    1. [GenWisconsin] Re: SCHWEGER
    2. Is anyone working on the name SCHWEGER? We are looking for information on two brothers, Herman and Robert, who immigrated to Wisconsin and settled in Seymour. Herman Schweger would have been about 20 years old after being discharged from the Army during the American Civil War. The discharge papers say he was born in Hungary. Did may Hungarians come to Wisconsin around1860? Thanks for any help. Barbara

    1. [GenWisconsin] SCHMIDT Naturalization
    2. maryjo
    3. I received from the Milwaukee County Historical Society a naturalization that is not my ancestor (they sent the wrong one). Anyway if anyone is researching the surname of SCHMIDT who was naturalized in Milwaukee, WI let me know privately. Here is some of the information: Fritz SCHMIDT immigrated in October 1881 to the port of NY from Germany. He was naturalized in 1913 in Milwaukee. His address at the time of his petition was 555 17th avenue. His wife was Johanna and he had 3 children William born 12 April 1883, Alvina born 10 June 1887 and Louis born 12 April 1894. All born in Milwaukee. If anyone can use these copies, I would be willing to send them for the cost of $7.00 (the amount it cost me for the wrong one). 2. For those who grew up in Wisconsin, you can add that old favorite: WE-TAKE-CARE-OF-OUR-OWN-FIRST -- "Close the door!! We're not heating the Great Outdoors!" I wasn't aware I said that also until my southern-California-born-and-raised children started yelling it to each other as a big joke, noting that it is usually warmer outdoors than in. Monica

    2. Stacey K. Barton
    3. Hello, list! I have a copy of the "Gresham Centennial 1908-1958: These Hewed the Way to Civilization" (Yes, I realize that's only half of a centennial. I can't figure it out either). In it are photographs, anecdotes, and histories of early settlers there. If anyone has ancestors from that time and place for a lookup, please email me off-list at sakruege@cyberusa.com . The book is NOT indexed, so it will be a slow process. Serious inquiries only, please. This could be time consuming so "shot in the dark" inquiries would be a chore. 3. I really don`t think that the sender of "What my mother taught me " was sent by a person who hates their mother. I think it was sent to be humorous! We can`t all be serious and intent all of the time, we have to be able to laugh now and then. We need to look at the glass as half full, and not half empty. Pessamists don`t realize that it keeps them from having fun, even in the search of our elusive ancestors.
