Hello, I'm trying to find a birth and death for Emil Schultz. This is what I have. In a 1905 Milw. Census Rudolph Schultz, age 37 Emilie Schultz, age 34 Emil, son age 16 In a 1910 Census Rudolph Schultz, age 42 Emilie Schultz, age 39 Mother of 1, none living. I ordered Emilie's death notice (1932) from Ditto and her son, Emil, wasn't even listed. When I was at the Milwaukee courthouse, I checked all the years for his death and there was nothing. I also found the gravesites for Rudolph and Emilie Schultz at the old Evergreen cemetery. There was no stone for Emil Schultz. Where do I go from here ? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jean Redzinski nee Runge

Hi, I am cleaning (an never-ending project) in my office and found a copy of the following info that was published in Detroit Soc for Genealogists Research Magazine. It is page 66 but I don't know what issue or year. I have the DSGR index if someone wishes to find a copy of this issue. Begin:________ State Historical Society of Wisconsin at Madison Extracted by James L. Hansen, reference librarian 1807-1821 Vol 55 and 56 of the Grignon, Lawe, Porlier papers (Wis. Mss. B) in the Archives Division of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin contain more than 200 engagements from ca1805-1840, nearly all dealing with the trade and traders connected with Green Bay. The engagements themselves are from several sources and, although those drawn up at Green Bay predominate, there are also substantial numbers from Michilimackinac and Montreal. A number of Michilimackinac engagements, most of which were drawn by the notary Samuel Abbott, do not appear in the list of his engagements published in "Michigan Voyageurs from the Notary Book of Samuel Abbotr, Mackinac Island, 1807-1817, edited by Donna Valley Russell, (DSGS, 1982). These additional engagements are listed below. For the researcher who wishes to examine these records further, the Gringnon, Lawe, Porlier papers have been microfilmed and the microfilms are available for interlibrary loan from the State Historical Society of WI (not an update) Listed is the Date: Employer: Destination: Engagee: Page# Vol 56 I am listed the names only here. If you wish to know the other info please put "Mackinac Fur Trade" in the subject head - along with the name of person you wish the look up on. This material is copyright from the DSGS so am prohibited from putting all the data online. Vol 56 List of Engagees: Joseph Lamarueritte the engagements below are by Ts. That sounds like it was one of the land grants used to build UW- Madison, hence it's termed a land grant university. Does anyone know for sure? Titled.......Founders of Early American Families...Emigrants From Europe 1607-1657. This is something all genealogists and researchers should read to have a better understanding of what was happening here prior to 1657. We have posted the article on our web site at: http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/ Once you get there you will be looking for the link Family Pages Index which you will enter. WANECK, LEIGEL and EICHINGER families living in Franklin, Sauk/Iowa Co., WI in the 1800s. My search of the area has resulted in the knowledge that many families from Bavaria settled in the area. However I have found little reference to indentify the parents, sisters, brothers of these families, birthdates, dates of emigration, birth and death dates, land holdings, etc. I have found a Josephi WALNICK (presumed WANECK) and wife Thedae LIEGEL (presumed LEIGEL) attending the wedding ceremony of their daughter Catharine to Adolph ROTT (sometimes spelled ROTH or RATT as this time) on 2 April 1864 in Sauk City, according to the church records of St. Aloysius Congregation in Sauk City. Catherine was reportedly born in 1844. She died 30 June 1895 in Washougal, WA. At the time of her marriage, she is mentioned as a widow of 20 years of age and her former husband was a NAGEL. (can anyone identify whom this person might have been?) Adolph Roth was born 1 November 1830 in Alfter, Prussia according to the baptism records found in the Catholic church arhives in Alfter. His death date is still unknown, but after 1910, where he is found in the WA census Another entry from the same church shows 1.1864 marriage St. Aloysius Congregation church records at Sauk City, Wisconson. Honey Creek: Day 7, month November I in matrimony joined Theodorum ROTT, son of Mathiae ROTT from Prussia____?, and Katharinam EICHINGER, daughter of Michael EICHINGER from Bavaria_____?______. Witnesses. Mathias ROTT and Michael EICHINGER. Year: 1864 Katherine Eichinger was born 11 November 1848. Various records show her being born in PA and Germany. She died 7 September 1916 in Washougal, WA Theodore ROTT was born 9 May 1836 or 1838 in Alfter. He died 24 September 1908 in Washougal, WA Many Bavarian families were living in Franklin- sometimes cited as Iowa Co. and sometimes Sauk Co. All three families are reported to come from Bavaria. Is there any sources regarding these Bavarian families and does anyone have any information which might help with my research? The transcription from the St. Aloysius Church in Sauk City provided great information but due to undoubtedly difficult reading, resulted with many open questions. The WALNICK name is spelled in many different versions (WALNICK,WANNECK,WANJAECK,WANECK,WANECKI as follows: Sources: 1. Marriage date and parents information Source: St. Aloysius Congregation, Sauk City church records. Marriage record at church shows her father as Josephi WALNICK and mother Thedae LIEGEL of Franklin Iowa County. Witnesses at wedding were Mathias ROTT, grandfather and Joh. Anton SCHMITZ. 2. 1872 baptism record of Josephus ROTH, son of Adolphi ROTH and Caharinae WANNECK, born 17 March 1872, baptised 21 April 1972. St. Aloysius Congregation, Sauk City church records. 3. 1875 baptism record of Adolphum ROTH, son of Adolphi ROTH and Catharina WANJAECK, born 22 September 1875 and baptised 31 October 1875. St. Aloysius Congregation, Sauk City church records. 4. 1867 baptism record of Mattias ROTH, son of Wolfi ROTH and Cathar WANECK, born 29 December 1867, and baptised 6 January 1867. St. Aloysius Congregation, Sauk City church records. 5. 1938 death record of Thomas D. ROTH, father was Adolph Roth, b. Germany, mother Catherine WANECKI, b. Germany Each entry shows different spelling of family name. 6. Wisconsin Marriages, pre-1907 Can someone do a look-up to see if any of these persons are mentioned? What is the correct family name spelling? The EICHINGER name research also reveals a number of different spellings (EICHINGER, AICHINGER,EITGING (EITYING), EICHENER) as follows: Sources of this Family name 1.1864 marriage St. Widow, Washougal Catholic church for services; age 68 years fa. Theodore ROTT, b. Germany, mo. Katherine EICHENER, b. Washougal Catholic Cemetery. It would appear that EICHINGER might be the correct spelling but I have been unable to uncover any additional reference to this Michael Eichinger, exact date of birth(?1802?), wifes full name (believed to have been born in 1817 in Bavaria), date of emigration, land records, etc. I have been unable to find any other references to the LEIGEL, LIEGEL family name. The information provided by anyone regarding any of the above mentioned persons or extended families is appreciated. I finally stumbled on some information on my family that seems to be a big secret. Need help with getting more information (names, dob, dod, etc) as the surviving family members who know about this will not talk. My dad's twin brother (my dad and his twin are both deceased)apparently had a set of twins with his cousin. One of these children died at or near birth and never left the hospital according my source. They were born in Goodhue County (supposedly in Red Wing) and one died there. The other one didn't live long (less than a year) but went home to live somewhere in Wisconsin. This child died in Wisconsin. I am not sure of the sex of these children, nor the last names of these children - I am guessing it as Anderson due to the generation they were born in. There was a law suit as well. They tried to get child support from my uncle for the surviving child after it's death. My mother happened to go by a cemetery and see them burying this child and this information was told in the court. I would be interested in the law suit papers as well. I am also searching for the cemetery/ies (not sure if they are buried together or even in the same cemetery) for pictures later on as I plan a visit in the next year. The twins' fathers name is William (Bill) Noll. The mother's (Bill's cousin) name is/was Lorraine Anderson. Not sure if she is alive or not, and if so not sure of married or not. Her parents are Orren (could be Oren or Orin) and Alice Anderson. Alice is still alive but very old and do not want to try to locate her at this time. Alice's maiden name is Dewey. Any leads/information would be very much appreciated. Wanda Noll-Gonzalez --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? HotJobs - Search new jobs daily now
