Looking for any information about this family: J. R. Gentry and family found in 1850 census, Weakley County, Tennessee. Jonathan (J. R.) was born about 1804 in Georgia; Sarah about 1810 in Virginia. I have names of 9 children, all born in Tennessee: Parthena , abt 1830; Samuel P., abt 1835; William, abt 1838; John about 1839; Gilbert L. abt 1841; Emily A. 1843; Sophronia abt 1846; N. Watson abt 1848; and Robert E. abt. 1850. There were supposed to be 3 other children who didn't surive long. By 1860, the family was in Greene County, northeast Arkansas, where they remained. Jonathan died in 1884 (abt 80 years old) and Sarah died sometime after 1891 (81+ years old), so they were apparently of 'hardy stock.'
