Bill, Thank you for responding to my post, I have been looking in Edgecombe for Ann's birth because we found a tiny slip of paper in an old ledger of my great grandfather's that said this family probably came from Edgecombe, NC. No wonder I couldn't find anything about her, except her connection to the Bakers. Would you have any suggestions re: where to search? I have found a zillion Ann Gentrys, seems everyone has one !!
