I assume he was a younger brother of my John Phillips (who married Agness Gentry, sister of James Gentry who hung out with William Smithers) John md Agnes Gentry 1799 and Edmond md 1806. Edmund Phillips Sr. was born Dec. 12, 1871 in Surry County, North Carolina. Bennett Phillips didn't have a brother John. IE: see above..she meant Jacob I think. The John that married Agnes Gentry was the brother to Edmund Sr. Edmund Jr. had a younger brother named John. This John was born somewhere near 1825 and married Hannah Cook in 1847 17 M ii. Absalom OSKINS15 was born 24 Jun 185015. He died 22 Feb 192015 in Spencer County, Indiana15 and was buried in Garden of Memories Cem., Gentryville, Spencer County, Indiana15. Absalom married15,16 Elizabeth GENTRY17, daughter of William B. GENTRY and Louisa PHILLIPS, on 18 Mar 1883 in Warrick Co In. Elizabeth born17 22 Aug 1860 Warrick Co In. She d15 5 Dec 1937 in near Tennyson, In and was buried in Garden of Memories Cem., Gentryville, Spencer Co Indiana15. Samuel 'Lem Gentry, son of Joseph Gentry md Agnes Shelton. Joseph d 1813, prob bef Agnes as she wrote a will later in 1813. Samuel b prob 1748 Lunenberg Co Va md Sarah Brock abt 1771. Died Barren Co Ky May 1816.
